FAQs

Running into common WordPress limitations? Here are solutions using Refoundry, with step-by-step tutorials.

WordPress often requires plugins even for basic features like advanced layout systems, responsive behaviour, icons, sliders, accordions, and tabs. Each plugin usually solves one specific problem or gap, which leads to a stacked plugin setup.

Refoundry reduces the need for multiple plugins by consolidating common design and layout features into a single, cohesive system. It has structured layouts, responsive controls, and reusable components built into the platform, which helps agencies and designers build professional sites more efficiently.

WordPress allows reuse through synced patterns, commonly known as reusable blocks. However, users often find them hard to manage at scale and they are often confusing for clients to edit. Refoundry’s reusable component block builds on top of the native reuse features and improves how reusable blocks are created, managed and edited. Any block can be turned into a reusable block, and can be accessed on a different page through the reusable component block setting.

WordPress allows certain blocks to be hidden or shown on specific devices using built-in responsive visibility settings found in the block settings sidebar. However, visibility options are not available on all blocks, and users often have to use custom CSS or plugins to manage device-specific layouts.

Refoundry makes device-based visibility easier to manage by offering clearer, more consistent responsive controls at the layout level. Users can hide or show certain blocks by device and can also modify block layouts for a specific device without affecting the layout on other devices.

Adding multiple plugins that modify layouts or styling can sometimes conflict with the active theme, especially during updates. Theme dependent layouts can increase the risk of conflicts, especially during updates.

Refoundry solves this issue by providing a themeless environment where layouts are not dependent on theme-specific styling. Also with fewer plugins modifying the editor, sites become more stable, easier to maintain, and safer to update.

WordPress does not provide a built-in control to adjust the z-index or freely overlap blocks without using custom CSS or plugins.

Refoundry provides a built-in setting to control z-index and overlapping layouts visually, without writing custom CSS. By providing built-in positioning and layering controls at the layout level, Refoundry makes it easier to create modern, layered designs directly in the editor.
