Refoundry requires PHP 8.0 or higher, and WordPress version 6.6 or higher—and uses the Gutenberg site editor.

Refoundry was engineered to enhance the WordPress Gutenberg editor, so anything Gutenberg/WordPress can do, Refoundry can do too—and they will even pick up the Global Styles settings that you’ve created for Refoundry. If a plugin is compatible with Gutenberg, it should also work with Refoundry. That means you can keep using all of your favourite plugins for SEO, accessibility, translation, analytics, forms, reviews, security, and more.

The same is true of Refoundry being compatible with any tech integration that can be added to WordPress, such as eCommerce platforms and marketing platforms.

No. Anyone can use Refoundry to create layouts, build menus, make templates, set global styles, and more. Refoundry is a low-code tool that renders code as you work with the blocks and settings. But some familiarity with WordPress, the Gutenberg editor, and the bootstrap system (the concept of containers, rows, and columns) will make it much easier for you to learn how to use Refoundry!  

In the traditional sense, where a WordPress theme contains code that controls creative elements across your site, Refoundry is themeless. You do not have to purchase or code themes to use Refoundry. 

However, WordPress requires a theme in order to function. So to bypass this, Refoundry comes bundled with two “theme” files:

• An empty theme file that has no code, and sits quietly in the background doing nothing.  
• The Refoundry Starter Theme—a fully optional set of templates that you can use to get started quicker, with global and component style presets as well as a basic header, footer, and a demo page. You do not have to use this if you don’t need it. 

Refoundry doesn’t require you to purchase or custom code templates, either—but you can create as many custom templates as you need, because templates make site development and iteration easier. The plugin works with templates in the same way as any other WordPress site (ie. with the default Templates and Template Parts functions, which you can assemble using Refoundry blocks). 

Refoundry Pro users also have access to a library of expert-crafted, responsive UX templates, which are popular content blocks that range from small content sections to entire layouts.

Yes. Refoundry is powerful and scalable, and you can use it to create as many pages and posts as you need. In fact, Refoundry makes it quicker to build page and post templates if you use its Reusable Component Blocks. There are live Refoundry sites with 1k to 50k posts!
