What are Template Parts?
Template Parts in WordPress are reusable sections of a template, used to build key areas of a site within the Full Site Editor. They are most commonly used for sections like headers and footers (ie. where your critical navigational elements live), which appear across multiple pages.
Template Parts allow you to edit these sections in one place, and the changes automatically reflect wherever the Template Part is used. For more, visit WordPress documentation on Template Parts.
How it Works
Template Parts function as reusable sections of a website’s layout, built using blocks within the Full Site Editor. These parts, such as headers, footers, or any other frequently repeated sections, are defined once and reused across multiple pages. Template Parts allow for streamlined design management, enabling site-wide updates by editing just a single instance of the section.
Template Parts are ideal for site elements like headers, footers, or sidebars that need to remain consistent across multiple pages. By using Template Parts, you can create these sections once and reuse them on different templates. Any changes made to the Template Part in one place will automatically update all instances across the site.
Full Site Editor Integration: In the WordPress Full Site Editor, you can create or edit Template Parts visually by using blocks. Refoundry integrates seamlessly with this, allowing you to use any of its blocks, including the Navigation Block, in Template Parts. This allows for dynamic, customizable sections that can be reused in different parts of your website. For instance, you can create a custom navigation bar that appears on every page, and any edits to this navigation bar will automatically propagate throughout the entire site.
Customization with Refoundry Blocks: Refoundry’s blocks can be fully utilized in Template Parts, providing advanced customization and flexibility. You can build complex layouts using Refoundry’s Container, Row, Column, or Navigation Blocks to design the core areas of your site. Once added to a Template Part, these blocks provide the ability to create responsive, styled, and fully functional sections like menus, footers, and call-to-action areas.
